Eric D. Zimmerman is a 2005 graduate of Frederick High School.  He graduated with a Presidential Academic Achievement Award from George W. Bush. Eric attended Frederick County Career and Technology Center where he earned the “Cisco: Hardware and Software Essentials: One Certificate”.  After high school, Eric pursued his love of Best Buddies International where he had served as a volunteer during high school. Eric worked persistently as a volunteer until he was eventually hired in the spring of 2006 for an internship in the Baltimore office of Best Buddies International, Inc. Eric flourished in his new job and was offered a permanent job in September 2006 where he worked as an assistant until December 2007. Then, in October of 2007, Eric Founded The Buddy Project which is designed to help individuals with special needs become more independent through technology by using refurbished equipment at no cost to them. Additionally, this past spring 2009, Eric received the “Frederick County Commission on disabilities: Distinguished Service Award” for his work with the disabled.
