Refurbished Computer Monitors

Eric D. Zimmerman is a 2005 graduate of Frederick High School. He graduated with a Presidential Academic Achievement Award from George W. Bush. Eric attended Frederick County Career and Technology Center where he earned the “Cisco: Hardware and Software Essentials: One Certificate”. After high school, Eric pursued his love of Best Buddies International where he had served as a volunteer during high school. Eric worked persistently as a volunteer until he was eventually hired in the spring of 2006 for an internship in the Baltimore office of Best Buddies International, Inc. Eric flourished in his new job and was offered a permanent job in September 2006 where he worked as an assistant until December 2007. Then, in October of 2007, Eric Founded The Buddy Project which is designed to help individuals with special needs become more independent through technology by using refurbished equipment at no cost to them. Additionally, this past spring 2009, Eric received the “Frederick County Commission on disabilities: Distinguished Service Award” for his work with the disabled.

Computer Monitors

The first step in this project is less ambitious: a mechanism that enables a user to create an image using genetically modified fluorescent bacteria. The installation allows the participant to enter an image, for which he will receieve a plate of bacteria, that develops this image overnight. A replica of the chemical process of photography done by millions of living creatures in a small plate.

Charles Babbage was born in London Dec. 26, 1791, St. Stephan day, in London. He was son of Benjamin Babbage, a banking partner of the Praeds who owned the Bitton Estate in Teignmouth and Betsy Plumleigh Babbage. It was about 1808 when the Babbage family decided to move into the old Rowdens house, located in East Teignmouth, and Benjamin Babbage became a warden of the nearby church of St. Michael.
